I rather liked how the creator of the video described when the idea of time travel started. He said that the idea of time travel has been around as long as humans have, that there has always been that one person who stubbed their toe and thinks "I wish I could go back in time and prevent that from happening." The idea of time travel being a pretty recent genre is very interesting, perhaps only one hundred years old and man has always been thinking about going back in time. The creator said that there were many books that are said to be the beginning of the time travel genre but most people have never heard of them, I recognised only two of the books, The Time Machine by H. G. Wells and Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol. It was an informative video and I enjoyed watching it.

This show was about a family whose mother died, they go to a store to make an older woman. They pick out the eyes, voice, ears, limbs and stature and make a human like robot. One of the children, Anne, do not like they woman because she was to similar to the dead mother. Anne runs into the road and the woman gets hit by a car. The woman is fine. She raises them until they are out of high school and then leaves. I think it would be strange to be able to go out and just make a robot, especially getting to choose exactly what they look and sound like. If the robot was able to have emotions then I think it would be very hard on them when they have to go back to the shop where they came from, this might even cause them to do something drastic. I think the ability to make a superconductor levitate is extremely interesting. To get the superconductor down to a certain temperature and then place it over a magnet and have it freeze in the position can be a very useful if we can get the technology at a bigger scale. We could move houses and cars at a faster pace and it would be easier. Does it really matter if a robot or a human writes poetry? Any written work is art, it shouldn't be a great conflict of who wrote it. Poetry does not have to be about heartfelt experiences it can be about anything and I feel that it should not be something of great concern. I think it is cool that robots can write poetry, they are able to do other great things why not poetry. This short film has the fantastic assumption that SiFi requires. The director decided that aliens will be what is added to make this SiFi. The aliens are called the catanmits. These aliens say that they want to help mankind and they do. They rid the world of famine and war. The aliens are making the humans less stressed, so they can eat them, so their meat will be better. The humans have been doing this for a long time, not will beings from another planet but with animals. The high adventure of this story is when they find out that the book that the aliens left behind is a cookbook and a man tries to get away but is unable to. Could this happen in real life? Probably. As I said before if we humans do it, why not beings from other worlds. This film makes me think. How many other planets have those aliens been to, how many of those planets are no longer filled with life. Suspended Animation is where an animal or some other organisms have been frozen from cold or some other way and for all intents and purposes dead, but by heating them up they can come back to life and be unharmed. They think that by lowering the metabolic rate with a toxic gas called hydrogen sulfide humans can be suspended for several hours and be brought back, unharmed. This gas is present inside of humans, it reduces the demand for oxygen and in cold places this can be useful in keeping us alive. This gas has proven to reduce reduce organ damage in animals and is being tested on humans to see if this reduction is also present in humans. This gas is used to save thousands of babies per year. I find this to be very interesting, this could help us as a human race. It could also harm us, not by using the gas but by giving us a way to immortality. If this gas was available to everyone and they knew how to use it we would have less deaths, our world is steadily reaching its maximum capacity and this suspended animation could give problems with overpopulation. The advance in biological engineering is amazing, scientists can regrow ears, bladders and other various parts of the human body. This is promising, those who have been disabled, whether at birth or by terrible accidents, they will be able to have what is considered normal functioning part of there bodies. The idea of taking skin cells and turning them to stem cells is amazing and is
